Accident slows Route 58 traffic

U.S. Route 58 westbound was tied up for much of Tuesday after an accident.
The three-vehicle accident near the regional landfill happened about 11:27 a.m.
Suffolk spokesman Tim Kelley said there were no serious injuries in the accident, but a diesel-fuel spill required a hazardous materials team to be dispatched to the scene, further disrupting the flow of traffic.
One of the involved vehicles was a Rent-a-Center box truck, and another was a tractor-trailer carrying grain.
Traffic was at a crawl for most of the day, including times of being at a complete stop for up to 30 minutes.
