Willie Lee Copeland of 211 Bunch Ave., Suffolk went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012.
He was the son of the late Helen Copeland and Eddie Copeland.
Mr. Copeland retired from Newport News Shipyard, where he served as a supervisor, after 27 years of service. He was a member of Pulaski Baptist Church and served as a trustee, president of the Usher Board and pastor’s aide. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 256 in Holland.
He leaves to cherish his memory his lovely wife of 52 years, Ethel J. Copeland; five daughters, Gwanda Spires of Portsmouth, Deirdre Dildy, Felicia Copeland and Regena Hinton (Terry), all of Suffolk, and Julie Little (John) of Hampton; two brothers, Allen Copeland (Barbara) of Portsmouth and Randolph Copeland of Burkesville; three sisters, Gladys Russell, Mamie Doris Saunders of New York and Barbara Lawyer of Suffolk; 17 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
His homegoing service will be held Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at noon at Pulaski Baptist Church in Carrsville, officiated by Dr. Robert E. Rodgers. Interment will be at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
