Alfred Ronald Joe, 61, of 302 Burnetts Way, Suffolk, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at Sentara Norfolk General Heart Hospital. He was a native of Nansemond County and the son of the late John Alfred Joe Sr. and Virgie Copeland Joe.

He attended John F. Kennedy High School. He served in the U.S. Army. Alfred was a delivery driver for Norfolk Wholesale Florist. He was a member of St. Mark AME Zion Methodist Church.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Everne Mayfield Joe; two daughters, Stephanie L. Brown (Keith), of Randallstown, Md., and Crystal D. Wheat (Lionel), of Chesapeake, Va.; one son, Aaron E. Joe, of Chesapeake, Va.; four sisters, Constance M. Casper, of Suffolk, Connell E. Adam (George), of Portsmouth, Va., Melody E. Joe, of Wakefield, Va., and Sharon C. Artis (Edward), of Waverly, Va.; four brothers, John A. Joe Jr. (Carol), Daniel G. Joe, both of Suffolk, Brockley D. Joe (Clordelia), of Portsmouth, Va., and Eric A. Joe (Diane), of Suffolk; five grandchildren, Devin Wells, Kristopher A. Joe, Aaron M. Joe, Aleuxs J. Joe and Destanie Joe; two aunts, Catherine L. Reid, of Palm Coast, Fla., and Mattie Mae Parkes, of Suffolk; two devoted nephews, John A. Joe III and Ryan Joe; godson, Justin Knight; daughter-in-law, LaShiona; stepmother, Ann W. Joe; four sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law; other relatives and many friends.

A funeral service will be held at noon Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Piney Grove Baptist Church officiated by Suffragan Bishop Madison Copeland. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 28 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Crocker Funeral Home. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
