Michael L. Riddick, 59, a native of Suffolk, Va., entered eternal rest, Sept. 24, 2012, at Sentara Obici Hospital.
He was born to Mrs. Ivery Goodman and the late James Riddick. He was formerly employed at Ciba for more than 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, and sister Marion Riddick Giles.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Ivery Goodman; stepfather, George Goodman; daughter, Patricia Riddick; sisters, Mildred Laury, Ann Joe, Barbara Bond, Doris Johnson (Jeffrey), Valerie Felton (Eric); brothers, Marvin (Cynthia), Amos (Rosemary) and Calvin (Joyce) Riddick; a host of uncles and aunts, including devoted aunt Deloise Freeman; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including devoted friends Pamela Wilson and Antonio Dillard.
A viewing will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Crocker Funeral Home. A funeral will be held at noon Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at New Mt. Joy Food for Living Ministries, 307 County St., Suffolk, with Pastor Marvin Riddick officiating and Overseer Viola Parker, pastor. Mr. Riddick will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the residence of Doris and Jeffrey Johnson, 2012 Quarter Horse Lane, Suffolk, and at the residence of Amos and Rosemary Riddick, 230 Pinner St. Suffolk.
