Hunter named All-American

The Apprentice School golf team closed out its fall season Tuesday with a fourth-place finish at the 2012 U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association National Championships, held on the Penn State University Blue Course.

The Builders shot a 307 round to finish at 636 and in fourth place in the 19-team field.

Junior Ben Hunter and sophomore Kyle Mutter finished second and fourth, respectively, to repeat as USCAA All-Americans.

Hunter shot a 70 on Tuesday to vault up to second place individually with a 147 total. He was three strokes behind tournament winner Kyle Kapturowski of team winner Daemen College. Mutter shot a 76 on Tuesday to finish alone in fourth place with a 151 total.

This marks the second USCAA All-American honor for Mutter and the third for Hunter.

Daemen College won the event with a 301 Tuesday round for a 605 total.
