Annette Virginia Scott, 55, of 3176 Clay Hill Road, Suffolk, Va., died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of Leroy Scott Sr. and the late Lizzie V. Scott.
She was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School. She attended Paul D. Camp Community College, where she received a degree in business and did some study in law. She worked as a cake decorator in Farm Fresh. Annette grew up as a member of Balm of Gilead Missionary Baptist Church. She later joined Triumph of Victory Christian Church of Wakefield, Va.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sisters, Liz D. Scott and Tracey S. Scott, both of Suffolk; three brothers, Leroy Scott Jr., of Butner, N.C., Wayne Scott, of Atlanta, Ga., and Lamont Brinkley, of Suffolk; seven aunts, Janice Boone, Lois Meggie, Elaine Scott and Deloris Scott, of Brooklyn, N.Y., Ida Bell, of Virginia Beach, Pearlie Mae Scott (Thomas) and Bernice Scott, of Suffolk; four uncles, Dallas Boone, Leslie Boone, Sam Scott (Peggy), of Suffolk, and Hoffler Lee Scott (Mae), of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one devoted friend, Marie Walker, of Suffolk; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held at noon, Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at Triumph of Victory Christian Church in Wakefield officiated by the Rev. Breon Perry. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Church.
