SUFFOLK — Myrtle H. Coker, of 209 Walnut St., slipped away on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012. She was born to the late Napoleon B. Carrington and Lizzie Alma Harvey in Suffolk (Nansemond County), Va.
She was predeceased by the love of her life, William A. Coker; brother, Richard W. Harvey; and sister, Mary Evelyn Richards.
Myrtle is survived by her children, Larry Coker (Princess), Alonzo Coker, Cathy Warren (Marvin), Karan Wright (John) and Tammy Coker; grandchildren, Duron Warren, Stacey McKoy, Desiree Warren, Kenneth Warren (Kristina), Torey Davis-Lee, Kyle Warren, Sterling Coker, Rex Coker and Savannah Coker; great-grandchildren, Sydney Ward, Nia McKoy, Kendon Warren, Khloe Coker and Rex Coker Jr.; brother-in-law, Otis Richards; niece, Paula Jones; and many other family and friends.
Myrtle was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church Mahan and she retired from Suffolk Public Schools Food Service.
Ms. Coker will be on view Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and a wake service will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A celebration of life service will take place at 1 p.m. on Monday at First Baptist Church Mahan. She will be laid to rest at Carver Memorial Cemetery.
