Bryan Nuckles of Suffolk, a Nansemond-Suffolk Academy alumnus, took first place in the 50 and 100 freestyle events during a McDaniel College swim meet against Swarthmore College on Saturday.

Nuckles finished in 21.60 in the 50 and in 48.02 in the 100.

Swarthmore won six of the 11 events to help secure a 119-86 victory over McDaniel in the Centennial Conference men’s swimming opener.

Nuckles also anchored the 200 medley relay, joining Stevie Hoyt, Jono Leafblad and Jesse Mills to finish second with a time of 1:44.05.
