Roland T. Brinkley, 61, of Suffolk died Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He was preceded in death by Mamie Brinkley and Ollie Brinkley.

Mr. Brinkley was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. He was employed at American Cold Storage. He was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church.

He is survived by his sister, Sonja Rountree of Portsmouth; one brother, Eric Brinkley of St. Petersburg, Fla.; aunts, Eunice Little of Suffolk and Helen Burrows of Harlem, N.Y.; nieces, Karen Copeland (Sterling) of Pittsburg, Penn., and Katrina Rountree of Suffolk; nephews, Gregory Rountree (Melly), Daryl Rountree (Rita), Corey Rountree (Tresha) and Brian Rountree (Nicole), all of Suffolk; a special friend, Alice Cobb; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

A funeral will be held at noon, Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, in the chapel of Crocker Funeral Home, officiated by Dr. Robert E. Rodgers. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
