West Washington Street in downtown will begin daily closures Wednesday that are set to last through Dec. 14.

The closures, which will occur from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., will allow utility work in the 400 block of West Washington Street. The work, which includes re-alignment of the sewer main, replacement of water and sewer lines and the abandonment of inactive lines, is in preparation for construction of the new municipal center.

Access to local businesses within the work zone will be allowed. Access to the Morgan Memorial Library is available from Jackson Street.
