Velma Dean Howell Yates, 82, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at the Riverside Convalescent Center, Saluda. The funeral service will be at noon Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at the Saint Matthews Holiness Church, 750 Dutch Road, Suffolk. Interment will be in the Howell Collins Cemetery, Pittmantown Road, Suffolk. Viewing will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday at the J.K. Redmond Funeral Home, Shacklefords, and from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church.
