Stephen Ricks Sr.

Stephen Ricks Sr., 76 of Suffolk died Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at Sentara Nursing Center, Norfolk.

He was a native of Suffolk and the son of the late Leander Ricks and Annie V. Ricks. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria B. Ricks.

Mr. Ricks was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and attended Norfolk State University. He was formerly employed at Norfolk Navy Shipyard and Newport News Shipyard. Mr. Ricks was a member of Macedonia AME Church.

He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Joyce Hill of Florida and Stephanie Robinson of Connecticut; one son, Stephen Ricks Jr. (Karen) of Suffolk; one brother, John Ricks of Washington, D.C.; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral will be held at noon, Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at Macedonia AME Church, officiated by Bishop Clarence Russell. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
