Tickets are on sale for the Nansemond River Pilot Club’s 13th annual Womanless Beauty Pageant.
Set this year for Jan. 26 at the Suffolk National Guard Armory, the event features local men putting on dresses, high heels and makeup to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
“It’s a great night of laughter,” said Becky Adams of the Pilot Club. “It’s a great time to get together for fellowship and fun and laughter, but at the same time you’re contributing to finding a cure for the dreadful disease of cancer.”
Five contestants have signed on so far, but they’re still looking for more.
Dinner this year will be provided by Carrabba’s Italian Grill. Money raised will be from ticket sales, a silent auction and money buckets used to vote for the People’s Choice winner.
Tickets are $20 and can be acquired from Suffolk Insurance, 202 Market St. or 539-9988.
