Warriors dominate the mat

The Nansemond River varsity wrestling team swept the competition during Saturday’s event at Lake Taylor.
The Warriors went 5-0 in winning the tournament. They defeated Lake Taylor 46-31, Green Run 70-9, Nandua 69-12, Norfolk Christian 78-6 and Peninsula Catholic 60-21.
Warriors wrestlers who went undefeated at the event were Nick Garland, Danye Craig, Graeme Beamen and Leon Lynch.
The dominating performance by the Warriors had special significance to head coach Tripp Seed, earning him his 100th win as head coach at Nansemond River.
The Warriors are now 12-0 for the 2012-13 season.
Nansemond River’s next scheduled match is tonight against Deep Creek, Grassfield and Great Bridge at Great Bridge High School.
