Students from Smithfield Middle School make Christmas cards for the American Red Cross’ “Holiday Mail for Heroes” program.

Smithfield Middle School’s Future Business Leaders of America, Art and Spanish classes created and donated more than 400 Christmas cards to the American Red Cross “Holiday Mail for Heroes” program.

The cards were picked up recently by Dea King, service to armed forces coordinator at the Coastal Virginia American Red Cross.

Each year the American Red Cross provides assistance to more than 2 million service members and many of our nation’s 24 million veterans by providing emergency communications. Once a year, the Red Cross takes the time to deliver holiday cards to veterans, military families and active-duty service members at hospitals and installations across the globe.
