Motorists on Pitchkettle Road should be aware of potential icy conditions through the long holiday weekend because of a possible water leak.

The leak has resulted in water on the roadway in the 700 block of Pitchkettle Road, near the Lake Meade Bridge. Overnight temperatures are forecast to be below freezing.

Message boards are set up to warn drivers, and the Department of Public Works will monitor the road and treat it with abrasives as needed, according to a city press release.

A contractor will be on site Dec. 27 to determine the source of the leak and perform repairs.
