Mary Marie Waters, 67, of 3447 Waters Ave., Suffolk, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a native of Boykins, Va., and the daughter of the late Robert Harden and Sadie Barham Harden.

She retired from Suffolk Public Schools in food service. She was a member of Little Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Usher Board and the Hospitality Committee.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Karen Skeeter and Pamela Waters, both of Suffolk; one son, Kenneth Waters (Rosalyn), of Suffolk; three sisters, Margie Harden, of Baltimore, Md., Thelma Artis, of Homestead, Pa., and Priscilla Mills (Dwight), of Suffolk; five brothers, Robert Harden Jr. (Elaine), of Smithfield, Va., Henry Lee Barham (Linda), of Franklin, Va., L.C. Harden (Jackie), Dennis Harden (Annie), both of Suffolk, and Wilbert Drummond, of Richmond, Va.; five grandchildren, Damecia Skeeter, Shonterra Waters, Dominiqua Skeeter, Arrous J. Phillips, Andrea Eley; one great-grandchild, Derrion Rountree; a host of uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at noon, Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Little Mt. Zion Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Thomas Harden. Interment will be in Waters Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
