Sivertson scores 38 for IWA

Nathan Sivertson tied a career high with 38 points, as Isle of Wight Academy topped Alliance Christian 89-61 at home on Friday.

Sivertson, who scored 38 last year at Hampton Christian, had 20 points in the first quarter and 13 rebounds in the first half alone as the Chargers jumped out to a 50-32 advantage at the break. Teammate Austin Rogers pitched in 19 points, including five three-pointers.

Two Falcons — Byron Joyce Jr. and Wilson Thomas — scored 17 points each.

IWA ran its record to 13-4, 4-3 in the Metro Athletic Conference and faces key league matchups this week at Hampton Christian and Portsmouth Christian. IWA narrowly defeated PCS 64-61 on Nov. 30.
