The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy girls’ basketball team limited host Peninsula Catholic to one field goal on Thursday night, defeating them 71-4 to go 2-0 in the conference.
Because Peninsula Catholic was not able to be very competitive, NSA head coach Kim Aston substituted players freely throughout the game.
“To be honest, it was a good game for our kids that don’t typically get to play very much,” she said.
Even in reduced minutes junior guard Jessica Pieroni led four players in double figures with 15 points and also had five rebounds and four assists.
The Lady Saints (13-3, 2-0) will visit Bishop Sullivan on Tuesday.
