SUFFOLK — William Hopkins “Bill” Millan Jr., 65, of the 9200 block of Dixon Road, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013.

He was a native of Cleveland, Ohio, and the son of the late William and Barbara Millan. Moving to Suffolk in 1993, he became Bill St. James, voice of morning radio (94.1) and the host of Big Band Saturday Night for many years. Bill was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and was active in community affairs. He loved spending his summers sailing on Clear Lake, Ind.

He is survived by his wife, Linda C. Millan; one daughter, Barbara L. Millan, of Suffolk; two sons, William H. “Skip” Millan III and wife Tessa, of Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, and Colin J. Millan and wife Lindsay, of Tacoma, Wash.; one sister, Sarah Millan, of Fremont, Ind.; one brother, Jon Millan, of Angola, Ind.; one niece, Susanne; five nephews, Josh, Charlie, Andrew, David and Stephen; one sister-in-law, Donna LaVoie and husband Terry, of Duluth, Ga.; seven grandchildren and a lifelong friend, Ron.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 8, in Ebenezer United Methodist Church by the Rev. Carl LeMon. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennett’s Creek Chapel is handling arrangements. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.
