Suffolk police have secured warrants for a woman accused of allowing both of her elementary-age students to miss school for more than six weeks.

Jeraline Blount’s two children haven’t been seen at Hillpoint Elementary School since mid-January, according to city spokeswoman Diana Klink. Blount, 29, of the 100 block of Charles Street, allegedly has also missed every meeting set by the schools to address the problem.

State code requires parents and guardians to send their children ages 5-18 to a public or private school, or provide for a tutor or homeschool arrangements.
