To the editor:

I was surprised to see that the city manager went to Georgia to get a new fire chief.

I also read that he had two years of experience. Well, I thought that on the Suffolk Department of Fire and Rescue we had people with as much experience as that and more.

It makes me think there must have been some other reason he was chosen.

I’m sorry, Suffolk firefighters — you apparently don’t qualify for the position.
