Daisy Mae Wall Darden

Daisy Mae Wall Darden, 93, passed away quietly at home on Sunday, March 3, 2013. She was a native of Anson County, N.C., and the daughter of the late Willie Wall and Annie Lindsey Wall. She was preceded in death by her brothers, William L. Wall, James E. Wall and John E. Wall.
She was a faithful member of First Church of Deliverance II in Portsmouth, Va., where the Rev. Emmanuel Sexton is the pastor. She was also a former member of Antioch United Church of Christ, Suffolk, Va., where she served on the Ladies Usher Board.
Daisy is survived by her husband, Bennie L. Darden, of Suffolk, Va.; one daughter, Sherri Wheeler, of Chesapeake, Va.; one granddaughter, Alexis Wheeler, of Chesapeake, Va.; one sister, Ida B. Wall, of Anson County, N.C.; three sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Wall, of Anson County, N.C., Evelyn Wall and Barbara Wall, both of Suffolk; one goddaughter, Jennifer Parker, of Suffolk; adopted niece/caregiver, Joyce McCrea of Chesapeake, Va.; and a dear friend, Daniel Watson, of Suffolk; along with a host of other nieces, nephews and friends. The family would also like to extend much appreciation to Compassionate Care Hospice in Chesapeake, Va., along with a sincere and special thank you to Felicia, “Miss Della” and “Miss Pam.”
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 8, 2013, at noon, at Antioch United Church of Christ, 900 Hull Ave., Suffolk. Interment will be in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
