Vennor Boze Leggett, 93, passed away March 4, 2013, in Suffolk. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Vennor Boze. She was predeceased by her husband, John Wesley “Jack” Leggett; sister, Margaret Doss; and brother, Adwell Boze.

Born in Suffolk, Va., Vennor was an elder and deacon of the Suffolk Presbyterian Church. She was also instrumental in the establishment of the Edmarc Hospice for Children.

Survivors include her daughters, Joan Leggett Gardner and husband, James, of Sherrills Ford, N.C., Betsy L. Butler and husband, Eugene, of Suffolk, Va., Susan L. Rush and husband, John, of Chesapeake, Va.; son, John Wesley Leggett Jr. and wife, Jenny, of Suffolk, Va.; and seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the Suffolk Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Rebecca Lesley. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
