Hortense Lucas, 79, died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Emporia Manor in Emporia, Va.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2013, at Metropolitan Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Robert Hobbs. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
