SUFFOLK — Page Hill Richardson, born in Winton, N.C., on Dec. 28, 1914, was the daughter of Rowland Braxton and Chlorine L. Hill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, and four siblings: Wells Powell, Iris Dunn Hancock, Billy C. Hill, and Rowland Braxton Hill.

She was a graduate of Suffolk High School, where she excelled academically. Among her many community activities, Mrs. Richardson was a longtime volunteer at Obici Hospital and for the Red Cross. She was proud to be the first female deacon at Suffolk Christian Church and taught in the Beginners Department for many years.

Mrs. Richardson shared a love of golf with her husband, Roy, who died in 1997, and she worked with him in the operation and ownership of Richardson Theatres Inc. In addition to all the above, she was noted for her artistic talents and exhibited in many local art shows.

Mrs. Richardson was loved and respected by her family as a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was lovingly called Page by many in the family who were named for her, including members of three generations. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley R. and Aubrey Fitzgerald, of Newport News; a son and daughter-in-law, Roy R. “Bob” and Ginnie Richardson, of Suffolk; six grandchildren: Audrey Page Bosselman (David), Lynn F. Mitchell (Willie), Ann Fitzgerald, Bobby Richardson (Karen), Martin Richardson and Thomas Fitzgerald (Dora); 10 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and sister Chlorine H. Murphy.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2013, in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, Va., by the Rev. Michael D. Halley and the Rev. James T. Dunn with burial following in Holly Lawn Cemetery.
