Antonio Gates, of Suffolk, died Monday, April 1, 2013. He was a native of Suffolk and the son of Tony Gates and Johnetta C. Gates, of Suffolk.

He graduated from Lakeland High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech in 2005. He coached for the Suffolk Steelers and tutored at Metropolitan Baptist Church in Suffolk.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, father, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  The service will be at Rising St. James Pentecostal Holiness Church on Saturday at noon.  Bishop Dwight Whitfield will be officiating. Crocker Funeral Home is in charge.
