The Suffolk Department of Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission, in conjunction with the Suffolk Office on Youth, are accepting nominations for the 2013 Suffolk Youth Achievement Awards Banquet scheduled for Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at the Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts beginning at 6 p.m. These awards honor those youth who have significantly impacted the lives of local residents and in the process have inspired others to make a difference. Community members are encouraged to take the time to nominate a deserving person or group. These awards are open to all youth that reside in Suffolk. The categories are as follows:

Outstanding Community Service Award

Outstanding Athletic Achievement Award — for high-schoolers only

Outstanding Athletic Participation Award — for middle-schoolers only

Outstanding Youth Leadership Award

Rising Star Award

Outstanding Group Citizenship Award

Outstanding Performing Arts Award
