To the editor:

On April 19, my 19-year-old daughter and her 4-week-old baby were involved in a hit-and-run accident in Holland.

Upon a 911 call from my injured and trapped daughter rescue workers were dispatched. These men and women did everything possible to protect my two babies from any more harm and completed this task in a manner that was outstanding.

When I was able to reach the scene, they immediately let me know the baby was doing well and that she was being treated and proper precautions were being taken to prevent any further injuries.

These men and women put their lives on the line every day to help us in our time of need, and they need to receive acknowledgement for all they do.

I know that in my moment of terror I probably forgot to let them know how much I appreciate everything they did for my two girls. You guys and girls are the best, and I personally thank you!
