Constantina Clemon

Constantina Clemon, 56, affectionately known as “Connie,” was born on Aug. 19, 1956, to Modistene Lloyd Clemon and the late Louie Clemon. On Tuesday, April 30, 2013, Connie went home to be with our Lord.

A native of Suffolk, Connie graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1975. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant until her health began to fail.

She was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church, where she served in various capacities. She also sang locally with Amos Davis and The Angelic Choraliers and Peggy Britt & The Philharmonics.

Connie’s father, sister, Lillie Hendricks and fiancé, Walt Cheatham preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her beautiful memory is her beloved son, Jabran Clemon (Tomekia), of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Jennel, Jabran Jr., and Jayda, all of Brooklyn, N.Y.; her mother: Modistine Clemon of Suffolk; sisters, Alleathia Duck, of Portsmouth, and Towanna Turner (Alvin); special sister, Rebecca Jackson; brother, Reginald Clemon (Claudia), of Richmond; one niece, five nephews and many other family members and friends.

Ms. Clemon’s visitation will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, from noon to 7 p.m., and the family will greet guests from 5 to 7 p.m. A celebration of life service will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Metropolitan Baptist Church. She will be laid to rest at Carver Memorial Cemetery.
