David Lee Whitfield, 58, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2013. He was born on Aug. 18, 1954. A native to Suffolk, he was a 1973 graduate of Forest Glen High School.

He was previously employed by Suffolk Public Schools and Newport News Shipyard.

David was an avid New England Patriots fan, and his hobbies included watching old Western movies and cleaning cars.

He was preceded in death by his father, Deacon William Kelsey Whitfield.

David leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved mother, Deacon Mary Alice Whitfield; sons, Quinton L. Jones (Tracy), Terrence “TT” Copeland; daughter, Elsie “Chanet” Parker; sister, Shelia W. Bullock (Michael); aunts, Marie Whitfield and Thelma Copeland; uncles, Clifton Copeland and Lorenzo Copeland; seven grandchildren and many cousins, other family and friends.

Mr. Whitfield’s visitation will take place at the funeral home on Monday from noon to 7 p.m., and the family will greet guests from 5 to 7 p.m. A celebration of life service will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday at noon, and he will be laid to rest in the T.E.
