Herbert Mac James Teal, 55, of 5333 Godwin Blvd., Suffolk, died Friday, May 3, 2013. He was a native of Suffolk and the son of Willie Mac Teal and the late Cornell Jackson Teal.

He attended John Yeates High School. He worked as a carpenter and was self-employed. He was a member of Little Bethel Baptist Church.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Rochelle J. Teal, of Newport News; one daughter, Jasmine Teal, of Franklin; one son, Herbert Mac James Teal Jr. of Franklin; two brothers, Jeri A. Teal, of Suffolk, and Christopher McCray, of Windsor, N.C.; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and many friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Little Bethel Baptist Church officiated by Elder Felton Whitfield. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
