The fire marshal is investigating a possible arson that happened early Monday on McKinley Avenue.

The victim told law enforcement that an unknown male knocked on the front door of his residence around 1:30 a.m. and asked several questions. The victim didn’t open the door because he didn’t know the person, city spokeswoman Diana Klink said.

About an hour later, the victim saw a bright red flame shoot up in front of his window, and he called 911. The base of the home’s foundation was damaged.
