Frances Mae Perkins

Frances Mae Perkins, 80, of Suffolk, died Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of the late Buster Skeeter and Mary Jane Perkins.
She retired from Hartford Connecticut Hospital. She was a member of New Piney Wood Chapel.
She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Lana Patricia Perkins, of Gates, N.C.; three sisters, Mary Ford, of Landover, Md., Shirley Smith, of Gates, N.C., and Jean Knight, of Suffolk; two brothers, Walter Henry Goodman (Rev. Mavis), of Suffolk, and Raymond Goodman, of Suffolk; one aunt, Rosa Lee Watford; a very close friend, Thomas Wilson; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, at New Pineywood Chapel Baptist Church, 1109 Drumhill Road, Gates, N.C., officiated by the Rev. Richard Curry. Interment will be in Balm of Gilead Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Suffolk. The family is receiving friends at the home of Walter Goodman (Rev. Mavis) at 601 W. Liberty Spring Road, Suffolk.
