Betty Cottle Pope, 81, passed away May 13, 2013. Born in Rocky Point, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Walter and Eunice Cottle. She was predeceased by a son, Michael Edward Pope.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Pope; daughter, Betty Jo Drake and husband, Randy, of Suffolk; son, Robert M. Pope and wife, Jane, of Prince George County; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and special friends, Dave Freeman, Lou Marshall, Bernice Creekmore and family.

A memorial service will conducted at noon on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, VA 23434. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private.
