A Suffolk police officer in his cruiser was involved in a crash Wednesday afternoon on Holland Road.

The accident occurred in the 3200 block of Holland Road about 1:49 p.m. City spokeswoman Diana Klink said a driver in a Chevrolet pickup truck pulled in front of the police officer.

Airbags in both vehicles deployed. The driver and passenger of the pickup truck were transported to Sentara Obici Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

The officer suffered minor injuries to his arm, but medical treatment was not needed.

The accident remains under investigation.
