Carl V. Boone, 86, entered into eternal rest and peace on May 15, 2013, at his residence. He was born to the late Caleb Boone and Mary Alice Boone in Gates County, N.C., on Sept. 2, 1926. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Randolph Boone, Mitchell Boone, Vance Boone, C.J. Boone and Clyde Boone; three sisters, Alice Sessoms, Mabel Artis and Juanita Young.

Carl Boone was a master mason for more than 50 years. He was the owner of Boone Construction Company and was instrumental in building so many residential homes and commercial buildings not only in Virginia but all up and down the East Coast. He later retired in the early ’90s and turned the business over to his son, Pastor Ronnie Boone.

He was a long time member of St. Paul Baptist Church and served as a devoted member of the Deacons Ministry and Sunday School Superintendent and also was a member of the Pastor’s Aid, among other ministries of the church. He was also a spiritual support and a financial support to his church family until the time of his transition.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Minnie Boone; one daughter, Cary L. Boone; a son, Pastor Ronnie Boone (Wilma); grandchildren, Frank, Lateisha, Treymane, Crystal, Jasmine, Kevin and Ivory; and a host of great-grandchildren. He also is survived by one brother, Harry J. Boone; one sister, Verna D. Alston; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a multitude of friends.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at noon at New Mt. Joy Food For Living Ministries officiated by former Pastor T.L. Whitehead, and the eulogy will be given by Pastor Bishop C.V. Russell III. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. before the funeral. Interment will be in Albert G Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. A wake will be held at St. Paul Baptist Church from 7 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2013.
