Sherry Silver Brown, 40, of Suffolk died Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. She was a native of Hampton and the daughter of Pastor Sylvester Silver and Linda Silver.

She was a graduate of Nansemond River High School. She attended Everest Institute and received an AAS degree. She was employed as a cafeteria manager at Oakland Elementary School. She was a member of Gates of Heaven Church of God In Christ, where she was a member of the Missionary Board, Praise and Worship Team, Drama Ministry and Church Announcer.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Anthony Andre Brown Jr. and Jeremiah Javon Brown; three sisters, Luxtracia Silver Frederick (James), Shannah Silver, Joi Silver Rountree (Daniel); one brother, Sylvester Silver Jr. (Danesha); aunts, Jean Barrios, Bonnie Simpson, Mattie Eley (Royal), Betty Mae Harper; uncles, Garrison Jordan (Diane), Cecil Jordan, Herbert Silver (Mamie) and Eddie Silver Jr. (Patricia); nieces, Jessica Frederick, Raven Brown, Taylor Frederick, Alonie Silver, Aniyah Silver, Kolbe-Raye Rountree; nephews, Elih Cooper, Sylvester Silver III, Troy Lamb, Chase Sinbad; best friend, Trena Howell; godsister, Vicky Johnson; host of godchildren; other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at noon, Monday, May 27, 2013, at New Mt. Joy Food for Living Ministry officiated by Supt. William Dan White. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
