Phone service is down to two public buildings after a fiber line was damaged on North Main Street.
The Mills E. Godwin Courts Complex and the Suffolk Division of Tourism are experiencing the outages. The Suffolk Department of Information Technology and a contractor are on site working to resolve the issue.
Work is expected to continue throughout the day and into the early evening hours. Some phones at the courts building are working, but the main extensions are still not operational. There is limited phone service at the Suffolk Visitor Center.
