Man indicted in attempted murder

The Suffolk grand jury indicted a man on two charges of attempted murder this week.

Charles Douglas Hyman Jr., 29, will faces charges stemming from the April 10 incident on Fayette Street. Two people reported being shot at while driving in their vehicle, according to a city spokeswoman at the time. Police say the incident involved a confrontation among of group of male subjects that escalated to several shots being fired at the victims as they were leaving in a vehicle.

In addition, a woman police say left the scene after hitting a Chick-fil-A worker in a cow costume was indicted on the charge.

Katrina Lovett Boone, 38, of Sunbury, N.C., faces a court date on June 27.

The 19-year-old worker was struck Feb. 4 as she crossed the restaurant’s drive-through lane. She was not seriously injured, but Boone allegedly stopped only briefly, then continued through the drive-through, got her food and drove away.
