Rachel Hawks of Suffolk was among more than 600 students who graduated from Patrick Henry Community College in Martinsville during commencement May 11. Hawks graduated cum laude with an Associate of Arts and Science in general studies.

Students graduated cum laude earned a grade-point average between 3.2 and 3.49.

Dr. Angeline Godwin was the keynote speaker. She is the new president of PHCC and will celebrate her one-year anniversary on July 1.
