Margaret Lee Copeland Boone, 70, of Chesapeake, was a native of Suffolk and the daughter of Tom and Sadie Copeland. She gently journeyed from time into eternity at home on the morning of Saturday, June 8, 2013, after a prolonged illness. She was the daughter of the late Tom and Sadie Copeland.

Margaret retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 26 years of dedicated service. After relocating to Virginia, Margaret became a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Virginia Beach. She resided in Chesapeake until her journey on this earth was complete.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Boone Sr.; four sisters, Sadie and Alberta Copeland, Queenie Kindred and Betty Stevenson; three brothers, Wallace, James and Vernon Copeland. She leaves to mourn one son, Garland Boone Jr. (Joan), of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one daughter, April Felder (Azeez), of Chesapeake; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters; two brothers; two brothers-in-law. Margaret leaves a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and co-workers that will cherish her memory.

A funeral service will be held at noon, Saturday, June 15, 2013, at King’s Grove Pentecostal Church, 6300 Old Myrtle Road, Suffolk, with Bishop John H. Kindred, eulogist, and the Rev. Keith D. Heyward, presiding. Interment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. A wake will be held Friday, June 14, 2013, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Crocker Funeral Home.
