SUFFOLK — Robert Thomas Soper, 82, passed away at his home surrounded by his family June 30, 2013. He was the son of the late Joanna Hirschbock and George Raymond Soper.

He was a Navy veteran and retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a radar technician.

He is survived by three daughters, Heather Soper Cage, of Chesapeake, Mary Catherine Soper, of Suffolk, Johanna Soper, of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; sons, David Mizelle and wife Kristin, of Richmond, John Soper, of Suffolk, and Rober T. Soper Jr., of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; grandchildren Cameron Cage, Jason O’neal Soper and Courtney Soper-Alexopoulos.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2013, in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, VA 23434. The family will receive friends in the funeral home Friday, July 5, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301 Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
