Cover 3 Foundation will partner with the Galaxy Fast Pitch Softball Association to host the eighth annual Galaxy Softball Camp Aug. 1-3.

“It’s amazing that we are going to have Galaxy softball camp for the eighth straight year,” said Keith Biando, camp director. “Each year, young girls between the age of 7 and 12 show up excited, eyes wide open and end up completely enjoying the experience.”

The Galaxy Softball Camp will be held in Chuckatuck at the Galaxy Fast Pitch Complex. The camp will be open to girls ages 7-12 years old. The cost will be $75 before July 15 and $85 after July 15. Registration includes a T-shirt and instruction.

Cover 3 founder Greg Scott has an undying passion to help the youth. Football is his passion, but he lends a hand to athletes from all sports and children from all walks of life.

“It is an honor to be in a position to help the Galaxy Softball Organization,” he said. “I think they are an awesome group of coaches, players and parents. I wish them the best moving forward.”

Managers and coaches of the Galaxy’s Fast Pitch travel teams will host and direct the camp. Past Galaxy players and members of the older squads will be on hand to offer assistance to the girls as well. The camp will be limited to 40 girls per session to ensure individualized instruction.

“In addition to all of the drill stations and learning different softball skill sets that will help them be better ball players, the kids have lots of fun,” Biando said. “Freeze pop breaks, water balloons, skills competition and a softball scrimmage are all events that the kids look forward to each year.”

The camp is designed for all softball positions and skill levels and promises to be a fun, growing atmosphere for all participants. Registrations can be found through www.cover3foundation.org or www.galaxyfastpitch.org.
