Willie Girlie Bowers Jr., 84, departed this life on Sunday, July 28, 2013, at Sentara Obici Hospital.

He was a native of Ivor and the son of the late Willie and Hattie Bowers. He was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers and a sister.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children; grandchildren; sisters; sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, in the chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
