Larry Vann Norfleet, 66, of Augusta, Ga. departed this life in the early morning hours of Monday, July 29, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie Norfleet Sr. and Virginia Ricks Norfleet; one son Larry Norfleet Jr.; two brothers, Johnnie Norfleet Jr. and Vincent Norfleet Sr.; and one sister, Marion (Jean) Thomas Reeves.

Larry was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served in the Vietnam War. He was a truck driver and worked for Kimberly Clark for 12 years before retiring in 1997 due to his failing health.

He leaves to cherish his memories: one devoted son, Ricardo Norfleet (Sonya), of Augusta, Ga.; three daughters: Felicia Rounds (Ronnie), of Accokeek, Md., Felita Creeknore (Milton “Big Buddy”), of Suffolk, and Seanya Norfleet, of Richmond; eight grandchildren: Brandon Colbert, Daidriem Colbert, Jasmine Skinner and Qua’shon Skinner, all of Suffolk, Jasmine Keller and Jayla Norfleet (his beloved “JJ”),
of Augusta, Ga., Rami Tipton, of Richmond, and Ronnie Rounds Jr., of Accokeek, Md.; one great-granddaughter: Ra’Niyla Harris, of Suffolk; two brothers: Edward (Ernestine), of Suffolk and Robert Norfleet Sr. (Michelle), of Augusta, Ga.; one sister-in-law, Gloria Norfleet, of Charleston, S.C.; a special niece, Debbie Sullivan, of Atlanta, Ga.; special friends, Lee Luney, David Baker, General Chapman and Vernon Bradley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will take place on Sunday from 5 to 6 p.m. at Crocker Funeral Home. Homegoing services will be held Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, at 1 p.m. at New Mt. Joy Food for Living Ministries and will be officiated by Bishop D.L. Whitfield. Interment will follow at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at 516 Chisholm Lane and 1315 Holland Road. Crocker Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
