Isle of Wight sheriff’s deputies are investigating a home invasion robbery where two young men stole cash and a shotgun that belonged to the 73-year-old victim.
The victim was watching television about 1:30 a.m. Monday when the two suspected kicked in his front door, armed with a shotgun, handgun and hammer. They searched the home, dumping drawers and turning over furniture.
No one else was at home at the time, and the resident was uninjured, according to the sheriff’s office. Two children, ages 16 and 11, who live at the home were out of town at the time.
The suspects are described as two black males, each between 20 and 30 years of age, according to the release. One was 6 feet 2 inches tall, 180 pounds, wearing a ski mask, knee-length trench coat, black boots and latex gloves.
The other was 5 feet 2 inches tall, 120 pounds, wearing a ski mask, blue checkered shirt, blue jeans and latex gloves.
