Smart Set Club awards scholarships

The Smart Set Club of Suffolk has awarded $500 scholarships to three Suffolk high school students.
Recipients were brothers Victor and Justice Kahlil Phillips, from Lakeland High School and Ryan Anthony Cyrus from King’s Fork High School.
Victor and Justice Phillips are the sons of Everett Phillips III and Jennifer Ledbetter Phillips. Victor will attend Old Dominion University, where he plans to study engineering, and Justice will attend North Carolina A&T State University, where he plans to major in computer science.
Cyrus is the son of Daryl and Tanya Cyrus. He will attend Norfolk State University, where he plans to major in business administration with a minor in music. While in high school, he participated in the Virginia Symphony Bay Youth Orchestra and was first chair violinist at King’s Fork.
