Dorether Steward Wiggins

Dorether Steward Wiggins, 89, of 605 Matthews Court, Suffolk, died Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at her residence.
She was a native of Suffolk, and the daughter of the late William Steward and Dora Copeland Steward. She was preceded in death by her husband, Solomon Wiggins; sister, Therese Steward, and brother, Leroy Steward.
She attended Suffolk Public Schools. She worked at Planters Peanut Company and Mitchell and Snyder garment factory in New York City. She was a devoted housewife.
She leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Jerry Steward, Leroy Cherry (Bernice), of Suffolk, and James Rahmings, of New York, N.Y.; three daughters, Dora Lee Steward (Fred), Rosa B. Steward (Clint), of Suffolk, and Deborah Rahmings, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; devoted friend, Dorothy Riddick; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, in the chapel of Crocker Funeral Home officiated by Suffragan Bishop Madison Copeland. Entombment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
