A Suffolk man who had recently moved to Spotsylvania County was killed in a motorcycle crash Tuesday night in his new hometown.

Timothy Ingram, 47, lost control of the motorcycle on U.S. 1 in the county, said Capt. Jeff Pearce of the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office.

The wreck happened about 8 p.m., as Ingram was heading south, when he lost control at an intersection. He hit a stop sign and then struck a parked pickup truck in a parking lot. The motorcycle caught fire, and Ingram died at the scene.
